Champagne Caillez Lemaire

Rosé

Winemaking :

Our Rosé cuvée is a blend of two grape varieties, mainly Meunier (around 2/3) and Pinot Noir. We blend the musts (juices) rather than the wines. The yeasts from the fermenting red wine mix with the white wine, giving the rosé its characteristic flavour. The cuvée is aged for between 20 and 30 months on laths, with part of the ageing in oak barrels. Rosé is a brut at a dosage of 10g/litre, with an expedition liqueur made from reserve wine and cane sugar.

Tasting :

The aromas of Rosé are predominantly fruity and spicy. Over time, marine and woody notes develop, offering a land-sea olfactory experience. This wine should be drunk at 10 degrees in a flute with a wide beaker to appreciate its soft attack on the palate. The effervescence is accompanied by a lovely vinosity, and the finish is clean and generous.

Pairing :

We make our cuvées without MLF, fining or filtration before bottling.
